Lecture by Rabbi S. Levy

Join DIVERSITY UNITED on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, as historian, Rabbi Sholomo Levy and attorney, educator, and activist, Junius Williams lead us in a discussion of “The Racial Legacy of the Civil War.”

We will explore the deep and lasting roots of systemic racism, the battle of Confederate monuments, and the ongoing effort to surpress Black votes.

If you have not already done so yet, please watch the video, “The Truth About the Confederacy in the United States,” (pay special attention to the video from the 56:00 minute mark to 1:02) and read the New York Times Op-Ed, “You Want a Confederate Monument? My Body Is a Confederate Monument.” You can watch the video on Facebook by clicking here and read the Op-Ed by clicking here.

In addition, watch the video, Stone Ghosts in the South: America’s Legacy of Heritage and Hate, which you can see on YouTube by clicking here.
